Voice

Voice

I sing a song to the free air
My voice like bird on wing
There is nothing in this world
I like better than to sing

To bring a song to silence
To hear the tones on wind
A moment in time to share with you
Some happiness to lend

And will you sing a song with me
In melodic tones of choice?
Be it happiness or sorrow,
By my side, lift your voice!

Your voice and your poem are lovely. I cannot approach your verse truly, but here is a haiku that I wrote for my historical fantasy. It is spoken by a stranded alien looking tearfully into the endless depths between the stars :

Dreams drift like clouds,
I reach to touch the moon,
I grasp but empty night.

Thanks for your verse, Roland

Marjorie, the beuatiful simplicity of your poems lift them off the page for me. They are so sweet and innocent-like that they make me want to put on a fake pair of wings and prance around a garden full of blooming flowers. Odd, yeah I know. But that's the affect they have on me. :)

@ Alliterative- I think that's great. It means I'm doing something right. You know, when I was a teen i definately wrote darker stuff. What teen doesn't though, right?
