Things, Things, Things!

We had our final critique last night in class. They will continue through next class, but mine were already critiqued. So I am going to post my final project. It isn't so ambitious as some were, but my instructor was impressed with the unity of the set. With the heat turned up to do well I am really, really hoping for a good grade. Plus I was second guessing myself the entire time I was doing my project. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my artwork. I couldn't bear to get below a B and to own the truth I really want an A. But anyway...

Here's my work. Please take note I won't be telling ANYONE what the objects are. Speculate all you want, but I'm not telling. That's not the point of the work. But I might be amused with guessing anyway!

So that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the photos.

These are really beautiful. Poetry for the eyes.

Very nice! And I like that you're not telling what the objects are - leaves it open for the mind to guess :)

Good luck - I'm sure you'll get a great grade, it's well deserved!

I did enjoy the photos. Can't for the life of me figure out what it is but the photos are gorgeous.

I also really love your new profile pic. Shows a softer side of you. Pretty.

Beautiful, magnificent lighting and textures. I love the corners of your eyes. No doubt you deserve an A. Greetings.

Gorgeous, and all about the textures. If you're curious for a guess, my first impression of the first one was an obsidion meat-tenderizing hammer.

PS, I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that in Z. Sitchen's book :)

I could guess glass for some, but no idea for others. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get an A :-)

I did a project similar to yours a while back. Great photos! I like exercising my mind by trying to figure out what object is in each photo.

The first one I think is a piece of Waterford Crystal. The second, possibly rosary beads. The third, the bottom of a basket.

How did I do?

((Oh, I know I am late/tardy~!))
I saw some beautiful reflections of crystal, a part of a basket, and #4 looked like a grouping of mushrooms..?...lol....Love the pics, no matter what they are, and would love a grouping of them, actually~!! Thanks for sharing...

I think I can figure out what most of them are without you telling. :) I love that they're all in similar fashion, tone and filter. Can you tell what type of lens/filter you used?

Marjorie: Lovely photos! Not sure what they are but I think some might include a beaded necklace and a straw hat.
