Before I get to the subject of my blog I just want to say that I love the desert, but I DO miss the green of the Midwest.GreenWhen I look out my window
I see blue and green
But mostly I see brown
I miss lush forest trees and grass
I miss flowers and rain
Falling down,
Down
Rain brings green things up
Up from the ground.
This is Illinois. No comparison even when the desert is at its greenest.

Lovely poem and pictures. Green is one of my favorite colors and my wife likes green even more than I do. The interior decor of our home is primarily shades of green.

Wonderful poem and the pictures are superb.
2 yrs ago I went to Yosemite and fell in love with the scenery but along the way it was so barren unlike our English countryside,

I love the poem. I love green as well... I was treated to an amazing display of green trees and pure white clouds in a completely clear blue sky this afternoon. The desert looks beautiful to me as well, though I've never seen it in person. I think I would be like you and miss the green!
Liked your pictures and loved your poem. You're right about there being no comparison in the lushness of the green.
@ Lee- Green is my favorite color. Emerald green to be exact. Which is why my blog title is what it is. :)
@ Yvonne- The Sonoran desert is really beautiful. I grew up bouncing around the midwest. I just miss green. Though the desert is my home now.
@ Melody- You should come see it in the early spring or late fall. Best weather that time of year.
@ Raquel- No comparison at all. I miss tall leafy trees.
